Since 2006, we have welcomed children to a unique preschool experience filled with joy, love and learning. At Seedlings, we strive to provide high quality childcare programs in both English and Spanish. We are a local family-owned business and are proud to serve the Calgary community. We believe that the impact of the environment during the first years of a child’s life lasts a lifetime, and that all children have an enormous potential which can only be developed in a loving, fun and rich environment. At Seedlings, we are committed to providing such an environment for every child in our classrooms through our caring teachers, low student teacher ratio, and personalized program that involves one on one time with each child. This allows children to develop their creativity and love of learning.
At Seedlings, teachers play the role of both instructor and facilitator. They must be well versed in a wide array of topics. All our teachers hold a Bachelor’s degree and a certificate as either an early childhood educator or early childhood education assistant, and our Spanish teachers are native speakers, ensuring optimal pronunciation and cultural background for Spanish language-learning. Several of our teachers are experts in the Reggio philosophy, and our curriculum draws inspiration from it. At Seedlings, children learn through an emergent, dynamic and interactive curriculum that includes music, art, story time, drama, science, free play and movement activities.

Our Spanish Learning programs were initially developed to prepare students entering Spanish immersion bilingual school programs, and to meet the need of families wanting their children to begin learning Spanish at a young age. The program originally opened at Strathcona, and due to high demand all over the city, was expanded to our four current locations.
